San Francisco truck accident involving jackknifed big rig blamed on heavy fog

California Truck Accident Attorney Mary Alexander

San Francisco, California - A major injury accident on Highway 101, north of Paso Robles, blocked both lanes around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, leaving authorities to determine which party was at fault.

A pick-up truck and another vehicle crashed into a big rig, which jackknifed and blocked the southbound lanes.

Emergency crews reported that the driver of the truck was found inside the cabin of his vehicle trapped and unresponsive. He was immediately taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

The California Highway Patrol has since reopened both lanes, and believes a major factor in the accident may have been poor visibility due to heavy fog. Investigators have not yet determined which party is at fault.

Canada Drug, Alcohol Rehabilitation Center - Chatsworth Pavilion Offers Powerful ‘Closed Group’ Program

Drug addiction and rehabilitation-Chatsworth Pavilion

Montreal, Quebec, Canada — Drug and alcohol addiction recovery is a personal quest that involves hard work, determination and unwavering support.

Although there are many rehabilitation centers available across the United States, the program at Chatsworth Pavilion based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada offers a different type of approach that fosters the addicts innate desire for balance, connectedness and healthy relationships, both with themselves and with the people in their life.

Working under the strict Canadian confidentiality laws, Chatsworth Pavilion’s approach, called a “Closed Group” model, is a shorter program that allows the counselors to provide more intensive, uninterrupted therapy and treatment in less time than most standard 28+ day programs.

In addition, the “closed group” program is a one-of-a-kind rehab treatment approach that is is unique to Chatsworth Pavilion. With a smaller group of participants, this form of treatment offers improved cohesion, and customized, individualized attention from staff and counselors, as there are no more than 3 clients assigned to each counselor during the duration of one’s program.

The rehab center’s philosophy states, “Chatsworth Pavilion is dedicated to providing an environment and opportunity for the focus needed to re-connect with our authentic-selves. We have developed an effective, structured, closed-group experience that serves to dramatically shorten a process that may otherwise take years. We honor all those, at any stage of recovery, who are working, one step at a time, to be the best they can be. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment to facilitate and sustain a healthy recovery from self-defeating behaviors and dependencies.”

Addiction recovery is difficult, but not impossible. Chatsworth Pavilion provides the tools one needs to recover from the inside out while learning how to manage life and all the curve balls it may throw along the way - without drugs or alcohol.

For those needing additional information on addiction recovery, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, or other questions regarding drug and alcohol treatment, contact Chatsworth Pavilion today at 866-866-5021, or log on to http://www.chatsworthpavilion.com/.

Maryland Radon Mitigation (410) 381-1557: Remediation For Silver Spring Columbia Elkton Potomac MD

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

http://www.MitigationSystem.com/Maryland.html

/EIN Presswire/ Air Quality Control Agency recommends that all homes be tested for radon gas. For more information about reducing your home’s radon levels, call (410) 381-1557.

Some of the Maryland towns affected by radon are Baltimore, Columbia, Parkville, Silver Spring, Pasadena, Gaithersburg, Annapolis, Glen Burnie, Potomac, Clarksville, Jarrettsville, Crofton, and Lanham MD. When radon levels are found to be 4.0 or higher, a radon removal system can be installed to fix the problem. This is known as “radon mitigation” or “remediation.”

According to the Surgeon General of the United States, radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer next to smoking. Maryland has radon levels that are much higher than the national average which is why testing for this dangerous gas is all the more important if you live in Maryland. Some of the known radon “hot spots” are located in Anne Arundel, Baltimore County, Prince George’s, Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Harford, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester, St. Mary’s, Charles, Montgomery, and Howard Counties. Keep in mind, that radon problems are not exclusive to these areas. All homes should be tested regardless of location or type of construction.

“You cannot see, smell, or taste radon gas so the only way to know if a home has a radon problem is to conduct a test” according to Jamey Gelina, a certified radon specialist with Air Quality Control. Radon test kits are available from local hardware stores, health departments, or directly from Air Quality Control by calling (410) 381-1557 or visiting their website: http://www.MarylandRadonMitigation.com. Radon testing is easy and inexpensive and should be a routine part of home maintenance especially in areas with known radon problems. These areas include Fallston, Belcamp, Cumberland, Elkton, Ellicott City, Hagerstown, Clarksburg, Westminster, Potomac, Owings Mills, Port Deposit, Rockville, Gambrills, Frederic, and surrounding Maryland communities.

When a radon measurement in a home, office, school, or commercial building is 4.0 or higher, action should be taken to reduce the levels. Radon gas abatement (radon removal) is achieved via the installation of a ventilation system by a qualified radon reduction company. These companies are also known as radon mitigation contractors or “mitigators.” A radon remediation system can be installed in most homes for under $1,200. This is a small price to pay to reduce the risk of lung cancer. More information about reducing your family’s exposure to radon gas is available at http://www.RadonMitigation.us/Maryland or by calling 1-800-NO-RADON.

Need A New Year Resolution? Kettlebells: Rapid Results, Proven History, No Nonsense Fitness Tool

Need A New Year Resolution? Kettlebells: Rapid Results, Proven History, No Nonsense Fitness Tool.

The oldest yet newest addition to American fitness has been unleashed: Kettlebells. What the heck is a Kettlebell? The kettlebell was brought to America in 1998 by Pavel Tsatsouline, a former Russian Special Forces human performance coach. A kettlebell is a centuries-old Russian training tool that looks like a cannon ball with a handle. It appears that, originally, kettlebells were counter-weights used in Russian markets. Country folk started throwing them around and eventually they became very popular in Russia as a training tool. In 1913 the Russian magazine Hercules reported “Not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics.” A Russian strong man was referred to as a kettlebell man girevik. Girya is Russian for Kettlebell.

Training with Kettlebells is the best kept weight loss and strength training secret around. The Russians have been using Kettlebells for centuries (think about how they dominated the Olympics). Kettlebell training is now being used by US Law Enforcement, US Navy SEALS and other elite forces. With Kettlebell Elite’s instruction there are no more separate weight training days or lengthy cardio days. Kettlebell training is an all in one workout, suitable for all ages and all fitness levels.

By combining kettlebells and heart rate management; Karen Smith and Kettlebell Elite is transforming clients in rapid time with maximum results. A kettlebell workout is both anaerobic and aerobic; in laymen terms, it’s like running and lifting weights at the same time. This allows our clients to burn on average 700 calories per hour; difficult to do with running or lifting as standalone workouts.

Karen Smith owns Kettlebell Elite; the first and only kettlebell specific training facility in southern Virginia. All Kettlebell Elite Instructors are Russian certified. Kettlebell Elite is the first and only training facility in Virginia to incorporate state of the art heart rate monitoring of all clients simultaneously during training sessions. We want our clients to get full potential of their training sessions. This can only be done by managing heart rate and insuring very high caloric fat burns.

Karen and Kettlebell Elite are available for group or private sessions.

For additional information or to experience the kettlebell; contact Karen directly.
